First, we get to know
you and your smile.

An orthodontic consultation starts with a discussion of your health, previous treatment, expectations and current concerns. We then assess your bite, tooth alignment, the relationship between your jaws, function and the proportions of your face and smile.

On this basis, we outline an initial treatment approach and explain which records are needed. Required scans and X-ray examinations recommended by the clinician can be performed at the practice. The diagnostic assessment is always tailored to the individual.

After the consultation, you knowwhat needs treatment, which options are available and what happens next.

We perform digital intraoral scans with the iTero Lumina™ scanner. The practice also offers NewTom GiANO HR radiographic imaging, including cephalometric X-rays used in orthodontic treatment planning.

This means that in many cases we can prepare the necessary records in one place — without sending you between different facilities.

On-site diagnostic imaging helps us efficiently complete the records needed by the orthodontist.

03 / CEPHALOMETRY

An X-ray.
Analysis. A plan.

A cephalometric X-ray helps assess the relationships between the skull, jaws and teeth and plan the appropriate treatment approach.

Important

Following an examination, the clinician selects tests according to clinical indications. Not every patient needs the same set of records.

Four stages.
One coherent plan.

Every case is different, but good care has a clear structure. You know which stage we are at, what its purpose is and what to expect.

01Consultation

We understand your needs and clinical situation.

We talk, examine your bite and outline an initial approach. We also discuss the diagnostic assessment and an indicative cost range.

02Treatment plan

We explain the goal and the next stages.

An individual plan is developed from the examination, scans, photographs and necessary X-rays. We explain the options, limitations, expected course and estimated costs.

03Starting treatment

The plan becomes precise action.

Depending on the chosen method, we bond brackets or attachments, provide aligners or cement an appliance in place. This marks the start of active treatment.

04Follow-up visits

We check progress regularly.

We monitor treatment, adjust the appliance and modify the next steps if needed. We also focus on hygiene, comfort and cooperation.

You see the goal.
You understand the journey.

A treatment plan is not the name of an appliance. It is a structured response to the diagnosed problem: what we aim to achieve, by which method, in which stages and under which biological conditions.

01

Diagnosis

We explain the nature of the problem and how it affects your bite, function and smile.

02

Possible solutions

We compare methods, their benefits, limitations and the level of cooperation required.

03

Stages and timing

We outline the sequence of steps and the expected course of active treatment.

04

Costs

We discuss the cost estimate and the services involved in the chosen treatment approach.

You do not need
any special preparation.

If you have recent X-rays, discharge summaries or records of previous treatment, bring them with you. Also prepare a list of your medications and important health information.

Your questions matter most. Write them down beforehand — the consultation gives you time to discuss methods, timing, comfort, costs and everyday life with braces.

Questions before
first visit.

The consultation aims to inform and reassure you. The decision to start treatment is yours.

Does the consultation mean the start of treatment?

No. The first appointment is for assessing your situation and explaining the options. Treatment starts after you accept the plan.

Will I have a scan and X-rays at the first appointment?

The diagnostic assessment depends on your clinical situation. Necessary scans and indicated X-rays can be performed on site; the clinician explains their purpose and selects the appropriate scope.

When will I receive my treatment plan and cost estimate?

The timing depends on the records required and the complexity of the case. We agree individually on when and how to discuss the plan.

Can I come for a second opinion?

Yes. Bring any records you have and information about previous or proposed treatment.

Can the plan change during treatment?

Yes. Regular reviews allow us to assess tissue response and treatment progress. The plan is adjusted if the clinical situation requires it.
