01 / NEEDLoss of facial volume and proportions - where to start?
A change in oval or proportion may result from bone remodeling, tissue displacement, loss of volume or skin quality. That's why we don't start with the number of milliliters, but with the analysis of the entire face.
A description of the appearance or sensation is a conversation starter, but is not a diagnosis or indication for a specific procedure. The decision is influenced by anatomy, health, previous treatments, tissue quality and the expected nature of the change.
What might attract attention?
- change in the contour of the cheek or jawline
- deepening of dark circles and wrinkles resulting from loss of support
- asymmetry or disproportion of the middle and lower parts of the face
- feeling of heaviness despite loss of volume in another area
02 / ANALYSISWhat do we evaluate before choosing a method?
- profile, symmetry and relationships of individual levels of the face
- skin quality and tissue location
- history of previous fillers
- whether the plan should be divided into several stages
Not every visible change requires surgery. Sometimes it is more appropriate to care, observe, consult another specialist or consciously refrain from the procedure.
03 / POSSIBILITIESWhat directions might be considered?
Volumetry
Volume planning with hyaluronic acid or autologous material.
Skin quality
Sometimes it is more appropriate to improve tissue without adding volume.
The final scope, preparation, number of stages and cost are determined individually after medical qualification.
04 / KNOWLEDGEHyaluronic acid and volumetry and facial proportions
Volume loss does not occur evenly. Changes in the cheeks, temples, chin or premandibular area may affect the perception of the oval, profile and shadows in other parts of the face. Therefore, volumetry should not involve filling every visible cavity.
Hyaluronic acid can be used to subtly support selected points, if the anatomy and condition of the tissues allow it. The aesthetic medicine plan should specify priorities, a reasonable amount of material, possible stages and the point at which further increase in volume would not improve harmony.
05 / CONSULTATIONWhat does it look like to make a decision?
The conversation covers your goal, health status, medications, allergies, and previous procedures. Then Dr Małgorzata Osikowicz analyzes indications, contraindications, alternatives and possible limitations. The treatment does not have to take place on the same day.
