What do we call a tissue stimulator?

This term is used for a group of various preparations whose purpose may be to influence tissue quality and remodeling processes. It is not one substance or one standard treatment. Products may vary in composition, consistency, place of administration and protocol.

The patient does not have to decide on his own whether he needs a stimulator, skin booster or another procedure. First, it is worth defining the problem: dryness, loss of elasticity, thin skin, change in tension or the need to work in a specific area.

How do we choose the right direction?

Dr Małgorzata Osikowicz assesses the quality, thickness and hydration of the skin, the area of ​​the problem, previous treatments, tendency to swelling and the expected nature of the change. It is also important how much time the patient can devote to healing and whether he will accept a plan requiring several visits.

One visit or a series?

The number of treatments and intervals should not be copied from a universal package. They result from the specific product, indication, area and tissue response. The plan may be modified after assessing the effect.

The patient should receive information about the costs of the entire proposed cycle, not just a single ampoule. Thanks to this, the decision remains informed and predictable.

How does a stimulator differ from a filler?

The filler can be used to add volume or correct proportions in a specific area. Preparations referred to as stimulants or biorevitalizers are selected primarily with the quality and reconstruction of tissues in mind. However, this does not mean that all products from one category work identically.

The choice should not be based on a trendy name or the promise of the "strongest" preparation. The composition, intended use, area, skin condition, previous procedures and the patient's readiness for the series and healing period are important.

How do we plan for healing and assess the outcome?

Typical local reactions may include redness, tenderness, swelling, small puncture marks or bruising. Their course depends on the product and technique. The patient receives recommendations appropriate to the preparation used, and the effect is assessed within a time frame resulting from its mechanism of action - not on the basis of the appearance immediately after administration.

Before the procedure, symptoms requiring contact with the office are also discussed. If the plan includes a series, the next visit should result from the tissue assessment and the adopted protocol, and not solely from the date previously entered in the calendar.
