01 / Consultation and plan

Consultation and plan

01What does the first aesthetic medicine consultation look like?

The consultation begins with a conversation about your needs, health condition, medications, allergies and previous treatments. Dr Małgorzata Osikowicz assesses the anatomy and quality of tissues, explains possible courses of action and also tells us when the procedure is not needed or should be postponed.

02Will I know the cost of the procedure during the consultation?

Yes. After the examination and determining the scope, the doctor presents the preliminary cost of the entire plan or its individual stages. If the final amount of preparation may depend on tissue reaction or a decision made during the procedure, this will be clearly discussed before consent is given.

03Will I find out during the consultation how long the treatment will take?

Yes. The approximate duration of the procedure itself, the entire visit, possible anesthesia and the period during which typical post-treatment reactions may be visible are discussed. With a staged plan, you will also know the expected interval between visits and the moment of inspection.

04Do I need to know what treatment I need?

No. Just describe what catches your attention or limits your comfort. In aesthetic medicine, a similar appearance may result from various reasons, so the choice of method should be based on the examination, and not on the basis of the name of a popular preparation.

05Can the procedure be performed during the first visit?

Sometimes this is possible if, after the consultation, there are no contraindications, the patient knows the possibilities and risks and has time to make an informed decision. However, this is not an assumption - safety and a well-laid plan take precedence over haste.

06How to prepare for a consultation?

Prepare a list of medications and supplements, information about allergies, illnesses, pregnancy or breastfeeding, and dates of previous procedures. If you have documentation regarding the preparations used or significant diseases, it is worth taking it with you.

07Can I show a photo of the expected effect?

Yes, a photo can help clarify the direction and level of subtlety you are looking for. However, it is not a pattern to be copied because the proportions, facial expressions, skin quality and tissue response are individual.

08Can the plan include several stages?

Yes. Staging allows you to calmly assess the tissue response and not exceed the range needed to achieve a harmonious change. Before starting, we discuss the order, approximate intervals, cost and when it is worth stopping the therapy.

09Does the consultation oblige me to undergo the procedure?

No. Its purpose is to qualify, provide reliable information and prepare a plan. You can calmly rethink your decision, and your doctor may also recommend abandoning the procedure or consulting another specialist.

02 / Security

Safety

01Who performs aesthetic medicine treatments?

Treatments are performed by Małgorzata Osikowicz, MD, a graduate of the Medical University of Silesia and a qualified aesthetic medicine physician. Every procedure is preceded by an individual medical assessment.

02Why is a medical interview so important?

It allows you to assess the risk related to, among others, diseases, medications, allergies, susceptibility to infections, healing and previous treatments. Withholding information may increase the risk of side effects or influence the selection of an inappropriate procedure.

03What are the most common contraindications?

They depend on the type of treatment and preparation. Active infection, skin inflammation, pregnancy and breastfeeding, some autoimmune or neurological diseases, coagulation disorders, medications and allergy to the ingredients of the preparation are often taken into account. The final decision is made by the doctor.

04Are aesthetic medicine treatments safe?

Every medical procedure comes with possible side effects and complications. The risk is limited by proper qualification, knowledge of anatomy, appropriate preparation, asepsis, technique and clear recommendations regarding post-operative follow-up.

05What symptoms after the procedure require urgent contact?

Before the procedure, the doctor explains which reactions are typical and which require quick assessment. Increasing severe pain, unusual pallor or cyanosis of the skin, visual disturbances, shortness of breath, symptoms of a severe allergic reaction or rapidly increasing swelling require urgent medical attention.

06Can medications and supplements make a difference?

Yes. Some preparations may affect coagulation, the risk of bruising, immunity or the body's reaction. Do not discontinue medications recommended by your doctor on your own - during the consultation you will receive instructions appropriate to your situation.

07Can the procedure be performed during infection?

Active infection, fever, herpes or inflammation in the treatment area may be a reason to postpone the procedure. Even seemingly minor symptoms are worth reporting before your visit.

08Do previous treatments need to be reported?

Yes, even if they were performed many months earlier or in another office. The type of preparation, area, date of administration and previous reactions influence the assessment of anatomy, the safety of the next procedure and the possibility of planning therapy.

03 / Botulinum toxin (Botox)

Botulinum toxin (Botox)

01How much does Botox for one area cost?

One area: PLN 550, two areas: PLN 950, three areas: PLN 1350. The PLN 350 price applies to bunny lines, not every area. The final scope and cost are confirmed after medical assessment.

02Do Botox and hyaluronic acid work in the same way?

Botox (botulinum toxin) reduces the activity of selected muscles. A hyaluronic acid filler is used, among other things, to restore volume and shape tissues. These are different procedures; the choice depends on the cause of the concern and a medical examination.

Botulinum toxin (Botox) · Price list

03What is the action of botulinum toxin?

The toxin temporarily limits signal transmission between the nerve and the selected muscle or gland. In aesthetic medicine, it is used, among others, for excessive work of facial muscles, and after qualification, also for the treatment of bruxism and excessive sweating.

Botulinum toxin (Botox) · Price list

04Will the face become still after the toxin?

It doesn't have to. The scope and dose can be planned to relieve excess tension without taking away all expression from the face. However, the final result depends on the anatomy, muscle strength and individual body response.

Botulinum toxin (Botox) · Price list

05When does the effect of botulinum toxin appear?

The effect does not appear immediately and builds gradually. During the consultation, the doctor explains the typical time frame for the selected area and determines the appropriate moment to evaluate the result.

Botulinum toxin (Botox) · Price list

06How long does the effect of the toxin last?

The effect is temporary and its duration varies between patients and areas. Muscle activity, metabolism, dose, technique and previous treatments may have an impact, among others.

Botulinum toxin (Botox) · Price list

07Does botulinum toxin help with bruxism?

It may limit excessive activity of the masseter muscles and be one of the elements of the procedure. It does not remove all causes of bruxism and does not replace bite assessment, dental protection or diagnosis of other ailments.

Botulinum toxin (Botox) · Price list

08Can the toxin reduce excessive sweating?

After qualification, it can be applied topically to temporarily limit the stimulation of sweat glands, most often in the armpit area. Sudden or generalized excessive sweating may require an early search for the cause.

Botulinum toxin (Botox) · Price list

09Does botulinum toxin treatment hurt?

Short injections are felt and the level of discomfort varies individually. The doctor discusses the procedure and available ways to improve comfort appropriate to the treatment area.

Botulinum toxin (Botox) · Price list

10Can botulinum toxin be administered prophylactically?

The term "prophylactically" alone is not a sufficient indication. The decision should result from examining facial expressions, muscle strength, the presence of fixed lines and a consciously set goal, and not solely from the patient's age.

Botulinum toxin (Botox) · Price list

11Are Botox and botulinum toxin the same?

"Botox" is a colloquial term for botulinum toxin treatment, derived from the name of one of the preparations. However, available products are not identical and their units should not be compared or converted independently. The doctor decides on the choice of preparation, dose and points of administration after the examination.

12What wrinkles does Botox treat?

Botulinum toxin best responds to wrinkles associated with the work of facial muscles, including the lion's wrinkle, horizontal forehead lines and crow's feet. Not every facial line has the same cause, so before the procedure, the doctor assesses facial expressions, eyebrow position, skin quality and proportions of the entire face.

Botulinum toxin (Botox) · Price list

13Will Botox remove deep, permanent wrinkles?

Limiting muscle activity can gradually soften the line that is also visible at rest, but does not always remove it completely. With deep wrinkles, skin quality and remodeling are also important, so a realistic plan may include time, care, or another procedure rather than increasing the dose of toxin.

Botulinum toxin (Botox) · Price list

14Can Botox be done only on the forehead?

The forehead works in balance with the muscles responsible for positioning the eyebrows. Treating one area in isolation from the entire facial expression is not always appropriate, so the doctor also examines the lion's wrinkle, eyebrow height, eyelids and natural asymmetries. The scope of the treatment is determined individually to avoid a severe or unnatural effect.

15What is baby botox?

“Baby Botox” is a marketing term most often used for a subtle regimen with a lower dose or more precise application points. It is not a separate preparation or one standardized regimen. The small dose also requires qualification because the effect depends on the anatomy and strength of specific muscles.

16Can Botox gently lift your eyebrows?

Selective weakening of the muscles that depress the eyebrow may, in some patients, produce a subtle effect of opening the eye area. However, it is not the equivalent of a surgical facelift and does not remove excess skin or significant sagging tissue. The doctor assesses the possibility and scope of change based on anatomy and facial expressions.

17Can the eyelid or eyebrow droop after Botox?

Temporary weakness of the adjacent muscle, including drooping of the eyebrow or eyelid, is a possible but uncommon side effect. The risk is limited by correct qualification and technique, but cannot be completely excluded. If asymmetry or drooping occurs after treatment, contact your doctor instead of massaging the area yourself.

Botulinum toxin (Botox) · Price list

18Are the units of different toxin preparations the same?

NO. The units of activity of individual botulinum toxin preparations are not directly interchangeable. The sheer number of units without the product name, area, anatomy and treatment plan does not allow you to compare two treatments or judge which one will be better.

Botulinum toxin (Botox) · Price list

19How often can Botox be repeated?

The next treatment is considered after assessing the return of muscle activity and the actual need, and not according to a one-size-fits-all calendar. Adding the preparation too early or automatically does not replace control. The doctor takes into account the previous effect, its duration, asymmetries and the long-term plan.

Botulinum toxin (Botox) · Price list

20Can Botox be combined with hyaluronic acid or other treatments?

Sometimes a combination of procedures is justified when they address different causes of a problem, but they should not always be done in one visit. The order and spacing depend on the area, skin condition, risk of swelling and the ability to reliably assess the effect of each method.

Botulinum toxin (Botox) · Price list

21When is Botox not a good solution for wrinkles?

The toxin does not address laxity, significant tissue sagging, loss of volume, or any wrinkle that is visible at rest. The procedure may also be postponed or excluded for health reasons, including infection at the injection site, certain neuromuscular diseases, pregnancy, breastfeeding or significant drug interactions.

04 / Acid, lips and volumetry

Acid, lips and volumetry

01What is the difference between hyaluronic acid and botulinum toxin?

The toxin primarily affects the activity of selected muscles, while cross-linked hyaluronic acid can be used to support, contour or replenish volume. The choice depends on the cause of the problem and these procedures are not interchangeable.

02Does lip modeling always mean enlarging them?

No. The plan may concern contour, proportion, asymmetry, hydration or very subtle volume. The mouth is assessed at rest, while speaking and smiling, and its relationship to the entire face.

03How much preparation is needed to shape lips?

This isn't determined solely by a photo or internet trend. The amount depends on the anatomy, tissue condition, previous administration and purpose, and a safer solution is to divide the plan into stages.

04How long does hyaluronic acid last?

The preparations undergo gradual biodegradation, but the rate depends on the area, type of product, tissue mobility, metabolism and previous treatments. During your consultation, you will learn about a realistic, not guaranteed, range.

05Can hyaluronic acid be dissolved?

In certain situations, the doctor may consider using hyaluronidase, but this procedure also requires qualifications and is associated with risk. Not every preparation is hyaluronic acid and not every abnormality is solved in the same way.

06What is facial volumetry?

It is about planning proportions and supporting selected areas of the face, not mechanically adding volume. The profile, symmetry, tissue position, skin quality and the risk of increasing lower heaviness are analyzed.

07Are nasolabial folds always filled directly?

No. A visible crease may be related to facial expressions, loss of support, or the positioning of tissues in an adjacent area. Sometimes a more natural plan is to address the cause of the shadow rather than the line itself.

08Will I look natural after filler?

Naturalness depends on correct qualification, appropriate scope, technique and readiness to stop the therapy at the right moment. The goal is to maintain facial recognition and proportions, not to copy another person's appearance.

05 / Skin regeneration

Skin regeneration

01What are tissue stimulators?

This is a group of various preparations used to support the quality, density or elasticity of the skin. They do not work identically and should not be selected based solely on trade name - what matters is composition, mechanism, area and tissue needs.

02What is the difference between a stimulator and a filler?

A classic filler is primarily used to obtain support or volume, while the purpose of a stimulator is to influence the skin remodeling processes. The border is not always completely straight, so the selection requires knowledge of the properties of a specific preparation.

03What is platelet-rich plasma treatment?

The material is prepared from the patient's blood and used after appropriate processing. The procedure is an autologous procedure, but it still requires qualifications, proper collection, asepsis and discussion of real regenerative possibilities.

04What is the difference between plasma and fibrin?

They differ in the method of preparation and properties of the obtained material, which affects the application plan. The choice should not be based on the belief that one material is always "stronger", but on the indication and expected performance.

05Is one regenerative treatment enough?

It depends on the selected procedure, skin condition and purpose of therapy. Some plans include a series or evaluation of the effect after a specified period of time; number of visits and total cost are discussed before starting.

06Do regenerative treatments add volume?

Their main focus is usually tissue quality rather than clear contour modeling. If the problem is due to loss of support or proportion, skin stimulation alone may not meet the entire need.

07When can the regeneration effect be assessed?

Remodeling processes take time and the effect should not be assessed immediately after injections or swelling. The doctor explains when to expect the first changes and when to perform a thorough check-up.

06 / After the procedure

After the procedure

01Can I return to work after the procedure?

This depends on the type of procedure, the area and your individual response. Some patients return to normal activities quickly, but redness, swelling, tenderness or bruising may be visible for a while.

02How long does the swelling last?

The time and severity of swelling depend on the procedure, the area and the patient's predispositions. You will receive the most reliable information for a specific plan; especially the mouth and eye area may react differently than other areas.

03Can I exercise after the procedure?

Recommendations depend on the procedure. Intense exercise, high temperature and activities that increase congestion may be temporarily inadvisable, so before leaving the office you will receive instructions tailored to the procedure.

04When can you do makeup?

There is no one rule for all procedures. What matters is the disruption of skin continuity, the risk of infection and the preparation used; the doctor will advise you on the safe moment and hygiene rules.

05Do I need a follow-up visit?

Control is part of the plan and allows you to assess the result after typical reactions have subsided, not in the first hours. The date depends on the procedure and is set during the visit.

06What to do if the effect causes concern?

Contact the office and describe the symptoms, time of their appearance and dynamics. Do not massage the treatment area yourself and do not use random preparations without recommendations, especially if the symptoms worsen.

07Can several treatments be combined?

Sometimes this is appropriate, but the combination must take into account the area, mechanism of action, healing and sequence of procedures. More treatments in one visit does not always mean better or safer results.

08How often should treatments be repeated?

Not according to the automatic calendar. The decision should take into account persistence of effect, tissue condition, patient need, and the risk of overtreatment; sometimes the best decision is a longer break.
