Plasma and fibrin are prepared from blood taken from the patient. Differences in the way the material is processed affect its properties and possible applications.
ATR is an autologous filling material prepared in a specific procedure. It is not equivalent to every application of a classic filler, so the choice requires consultation.

A common beginning of the procedures is to collect the patient's blood. Next, the method of preparation, the system used, process parameters and the clinical purpose are important. This is why plasma, fibrin and ATR should not be presented as three names for the same procedure.

What does platelet-rich plasma mean?
Platelet-rich plasma is a material obtained from the patient's blood after proper processing. It contains the liquid part of blood and concentrated platelet elements. In aesthetic medicine, the procedure can be considered as part of a plan aimed at skin quality and regeneration.
It is not a classic filler and should not be expected to have the same volume effect as a preparation intended for modeling. The biological response is individual, so we do not promise the same result or the same number of visits to each person.
What does the preparation look like?
After qualification, a small amount of blood is collected into a system designed for this purpose. Then the material is processed and the selected fraction is administered to the area determined during the consultation. The technical details and protocol used must correspond to the system used and the qualifications of the patient.
How does fibrin differ from plasma?
Fibrin is produced in a different preparation process and has a different structure than liquid plasma. It can create a delicate matrix in which cellular elements are trapped. This difference affects the way of planning and possible uses of the material.
Choosing fibrin does not automatically mean a "stronger version of plasma". It's a separate tool. The doctor takes into account the area, tissue quality, expectations and safety. Areas with complex anatomy, including the eye area, require special care.
Approach to treatment
During a consultation, I don't start by choosing a test tube. I start by assessing the skin and asking what result actually makes sense.
What is autologous ATR filler?
ATR is an autologous material prepared from the patient's blood in a procedure that produces a consistency suitable for selected filler applications. The price list includes volumetry, tear trough and combined ATR + Full Face fibrin procedure.
ATR is not hyaluronic acid. It differs in origin, properties, behavior in tissues and the range of possible applications. Not every volumetric goal can be achieved with autologous material and not every patient will be the right candidate.
Why does the valley of tears require a separate qualification?
The area under the eyes is anatomically demanding, and the appearance of a hollow may result from various reasons: bone structure, skin quality, the presence of swelling or the relationship of adjacent areas. Just noticing a dark circle under the eye is not an indication to administer the material.

What do we discuss before the procedure?
The interview includes health status, medications and supplements taken, tendency to bleeding and bruising, blood diseases, active infections, previous treatments and expectations. Depending on the information obtained during the visit, the procedure may be postponed or additional diagnostics may be needed.
The patient receives information about typical reactions after the procedure, possible side effects, recommendations and situations requiring contact. Only after obtaining answers to questions does he make an informed decision.

What is the difference between plasma and fibrin?
They differ in the method of preparation and material properties. The choice is determined by the indications and treatment plan.
Is ATR the same as hyaluronic acid?
No. It's a different type of material and a different procedure. They are not interchangeable for all indications.
